Navigation

Navigation events has a way of scaring off many riders but this post is to show you that with technology these days downloading an app and uploading the maps given by the event organizer is easy and fun.  Also that the apps nowadays does offline navigation making sure you don’t get lost even though you have no cell reception.  This way you can create your own maps to go and ride in an area without cell reception but also don’t have to stress that a navigation event is a sure way for you to get lost.

Below a list of Navigation Apps directed at cycling and hiking for use in offline mode as well.  Obviously there are many more and please feel free to add to the list the tried and tested ones

This is how easy it is to work.

The event organizer sends you a link to the trail map, you open it with your app and check the setting for use in offline mode and download it to your phone.  When you get to the venue first thing you do is put your phone on flight mode. Open the app and navigate to the downloaded trail you would like to cycle.  It is as easy as that…..

Makadas – “jou rowwe bliksem” 😁. As navigasie jou afsit om hierdie race te doen, dink weer. Dit is regtig nie so moeilik nie.
