Final event in the Montagu Winter Trail Run Series

This is the grand finale of the Montagu Winter Trail Run Series and what a way to end the winter. African Game Lodge is a stunning venue and you will run through the magnificent Slagkloof. Be on the lookout for wide variety of wildlife: zebra, giraffe, eland, kudu, gemsbuck and many smaller species.

EVENT RESULTS

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: no results will be posted for the 5km fun run. We had an incident with a herd of Eland that got spooked by the runners whom then ran two of our direction arrows down and broken.
This resulted that we could not clearly determine which of the front runners took the correct route and which didn’t, this caused huge disappointment with the youngsters. The kids are important to us and we want them to enjoy running, the last thing we want is fighting about prizes. We want to apologize to any youngster that felt they weren’t acknowledged. You are all important to us, we have decided that there will be no timing in future for Makadas hosted trail runs for the fun run and no prizes except for lucky draws.

For the Record: No kids were disqualified from this fun run, we have decided to award three additional prizes to: Daniel Taedi, Donell Davids & Daniel Gous

5.7 km Fun Run | 194 m ascent

Open non technical jeep track, this route will give you spectacular views over the Lodge and the valley beyond. The descent is the same as for the 11km Trail Run. African Game Lodge has a wide variety of game and you might see: zebra, gemsbuck, eland, giraffe and kudu. There is a coffee shop and play area where family can relax while waiting for you.

12 km Trail Run | 307 m ascent

Slagkloof Trail is a must ! You will run past a waterhole for the animals but the highlight of this trail is the 4km’s through a narrow kloof, the trail is in superb condition (manicured not technical). You will see the Lion King Rock and when you exit the Kloof have the most magnificent views over valleys, hills and mountains even into Montagu at a distance. Spectacular trail!
